Scope: Renovation
This Kingsway Neighbourhood Residence is undergoing a total facade make-over. The traditional barn-roof and exterior brick veneer are being replaced at with Fiber Cement paneling for a contemporary fresh look. The exterior facade remodeling is complemented by improvements to the front and rear gardens with new landscape and paved access driveway from Pheasant Ln.
The Tower

The TOWER design explores the idea of building on an irregular plot fronting the Humber River ravine, challenged by a reduced footprint and building envelope setbacks. To add to this challenges, the narrow access driveway is shared with 2 other properties.
With no way out other than Up, the challenges became opportunities to create a unique layout using a minimum footprint - an almost (not so) 'Tiny House'. The stair of the TOWER became the organizer of the residence; concealed on the exterior within the massing chasing volumes, this vertical internal connector wraps around the main 3 floors alowing the spaces inside to live freely and open-up with panoramic windows to the surrounding nature.
The distinctive allure of the TOWER picks through the tree canopies, while the riverside terraces create a mistic ambiance on the forested ravine of the Humber River.

The Lakeside House

Set on the pristine shoreline of Bat Lake in Minden Hills, this Lakeside House is designed to be the perfect retreat surrounded by natures' bliss.
The existing cottage has been relocated and seamlessly connected with the new structure in perfect harmony and balance.
The 3,200 sqft total GFA combines on 2 floors an open concept Living Room / Dining Room / Kitchen and Breakfast Bar, Study/Library, 5 bedrooms with ensuites, Powder and Utilities room. The dramatic double-height space above the Living Room opens-up to the nature and Lake views with panoramic windows.
The ground floor is connected with an all-seasons indoor / outdoor Pool Hall for a complete relaxation immersed into the surrounding nature.

Leaside Residence is an addition / expansion at the back of the house, involving the enhancement of the formal Dining Area and Family Room open to the Garden, an enlarged and upgraded Master Bedroom at the upper floor, and a walk-up basement with Recreation Room and Sauna.
The character of the neighborhood was preserved at the front of the house, while the addition to the garden displays a contemporary interpretation of the traditional elements complementing the existing part of the house.

The Cube is a Custom Home designed for a typical plot in the Willowdale neighborhood in Toronto North York, Canada.

The upper level combines areas for the Master Bedroom Suite and tow other bedrooms with generous Ensuites and extended terraces.

NOTL Residence is envisioned in a Transitional style inspired by the beautiful Niagara Wine Country stone houses.
